- Knutseltroep had recently come close to losing her Grandmother prior to our collaboration on these piece's. We tend to give each other concepts whenever we work together and the "pain" of her Grandmother's passing seemed like the most cathartic thing for her and I to create something from. This is an ode to love and the loss of the one's we love the most.(The family watches on as her spirit shines forth in a bright and loving light as she is returned to the heavens.)

-I decided for the first piece to take a more literal approach to the concept of "pain" by showing the physical hurt that we all feel when we experience pain. (The family watches on, in shock and sorrow as they try to process the overwhelming mixture of emotions that they feel about the loss of the matriarch.)
